Boxing Drama

I am not into boxing. Er. Well, maybe I am a little. I just like it when they are really beating each other into a pulp part. It gives me adrenaline, and I can't help but punch the air along. I blame the fact that I am constantly with male companions.

Anyways, that's not my point. Today is Pacquiao-Marquez 4 (and my lovely tita's birthday!). I watched the previous three fights, and I've got to say that it's always pretty close. Pacquiao barely won two out of three. This time, the fourth time, Marquez got his game on. Serious stuff happening in that ring. Oh! Funny thing. Mexico's singer for the National Anthem had no voice. She was barely making out the words. It was pretty fun to listen to her as she tries to reach the high notes.

Back to the topic! The fight started pretty good. The two of them were not letting the other land a punch. It's always a hit for a hit. It was amazing, because it didn't have many dull moments (My fault for watching cowardly undercard fights). Marquez knocked down Pacquiao in the third round, but Pacquiao paid it back when he knocked back the Mexican in the fifth round. They were on fire!

That's where things go interesting. The sixth round was in favor of Pacquiao, but then Marquez read Pacquiao's next move. I guess he really did his homework this time around. In the midst of Pacquiao's combo, Marquez lands a solid hook. It knocked Pacquiao out cold. He fell flat on the ground, and his body started twitching. I thought he died there, but I was relieved that he lived. That was a shockingly terrifying moment.

I couldn't believe it. With just one wrong move, Pacquiao lost. Marquez was lucky to take the opportunity. If he hadn't, it would've been a tougher fight. Well, it may be time for him to hang the gloves. He's getting too old for that stuff anyways. And hey. Just because he lost doesn't mean he no longer should be respected within the community. I actually praise him for admitting his loss, due to his overconfidence.

PLEASE DON'T BRING RELIGION INTO THIS.
People started dissing his religion. If you didn't know, Manny was a Catholic, but he converted to being a Born Again a year ago (I'm not sure with the specifics). Because of that fact, people started blaming his conversion, which is ABSURD. It really shouldn't be discussed, because it's completely irrelevant. It's a fighting sport, and just because you believe differently, doesn't mean your performance will be affected. It's annoying whenever people bring up the whole 'making the sign of the cross' and 'rosary' thing.

I take pride in Manny. He's brought pride to our country more than we give him credit for, and Filipinos should stop being such hypocrites. If we were there when he won all those titles, we should be there when he loses them all.

I'm actually excited for his next fight. Even if he loses, it's fun to cheer for a fellow countryman. Go Manny Pacquiao! Better tell your mom and wife to spend less money on those Hermes bags though.

Haha. I bet I was more surprised than you. When Manny got knocked out, my mom started shouting 'PATAY'. For a brief moment, I thought Pacquiao died.

Yea! He was like twitching and his body was weirdly angled.
