The rest of those days

After Viel's Debut, I ended up back in our house. Vacations are the only time I can really rest, since my course requires mind blowing efforts. Like any normal teenager, I was on the internet a lot. I spent time with my cousins goofing around. I watched television. I went out with my family to watch movies (The Strangers is a respectable enough film). Basically, everything was smooth.

The highlights of the rest of the days were: New Year's Eve Celebration and GATB Meet-up/First Day of School/ Thursday Madness. I will talk about all that in this post, to make up for my extended disappearance in the blogging community.

NEW YEARS EVE

Remember when I said that our family liked to celebrate every holiday together at my Grandma's? Well, obviously New Year's Eve was no exception. This time, we didn't have gifts in hand. However, we had our pouches ready. We were getting ready for-- I'll talk about that later. We bought food to share, and so did everyone else in the family. As usual, we started the celebration with FOOD. It's the best and MOST AWESOMEST (YES) way to start any celebration!

There are alot of sweet food, and shockingly a LECHON. From this perspective, you can see the roasted pig's butt.

After the very delicious dinner that made me stomach sing in joy, we had random pictorials. A while later, we realized that my grandmother, mother and me were wearing clothes of the same style. Everyone laughed, and we were forced to pose together.

 Three generations of awesome ladies.

I'm getting too lazy to describe. Anyways, this is the same scenario with the Christmas photos of us cousins. As you can all see, we're surrounded by boys.We were trying to make fun and happy poses, because we wanted to print it and put it on an album. Technology may be convenient, but photo albums are still awesome

We, young people, were dominating the living room with our chatter and television shows while the adults were preparing the kiddie games. KIDDIE games, can you imagine? I thought that they realized we've outgrown that. It's a good thing that they didn't though. It was fun.

Since children like fireworks, the adults decided that we light up fountains for every hour. We started by 9'o clock. Before midnight, we had four fountains. I'll elaborate that fact later.

Poorly captured fountain

After the hourly display, we formally had our kiddie games. First was the statue dance. I cannot emphasize how many times the adults played OPPA GANGNAM STYLE over and over again. I didn't win though. I was caught with a very complicated dance step, so I moved. Kids, never raise your arm and hand when you're playing the statue dance. As much as possible, you just sway your hips from left to right. We didn't have pictures because we all got excited when the youngest, Christian, started dancing so ADORABLE.

The next game was island hopping. This is a complicated to explain. You get two papers, and place one paper for every foot. You have to continue walking that way until you turn the post and go back to your position. Get it? No? Sorry, too lazy to elaborate. We also lost this game, because one of my groupmates pushed the other group. It wasn't intentional. It's just hard to balance in one foot in a rush.

Phew.

Third game! I don't know what's the name, so for convention, I'm calling it, FAN-THAT-FISH. You fan the fish with a paper plate, and the group that reaches the finish line first, wins. AND BABY, we won hands down!

Look at our victorious faces!

The third game was Trip to Jerusalem. Instead of chairs, we had our older folks to put up their arms so that we could hook them. The same concept applied. Anyways, I lost that one because I had to be the photographer. I don't have the pictures yet, because they still didn't upload it. Oh well, my photographing skills were wasted.

On to the next game, we had the tomato dance. I grabbed my sister as my pair, since we're the only girls and we're practically the same height. Having equally awesome genes, we won! The tomato went to my eyes, my ears, my nose. It was the most complicated game I've ever been.

Here is a picture of our hardship.

We had more fireworks, and we had to eat again to regain our energies. The buzzing energy calmed down a bit, while we took the time to take a breath. It was past eleven by then, so we had another of our money giving activity.

We received little monetary gifts in red chinese pockets. Everyone had to give a speech, whether a thank you speech or a wish speech, after receiving the gift. The most anticipated talk was from the youngest, and he said the sweetest thing
"I wish everyone in this planet good health"- Christian
It was so cute, and we all laughed. He enjoys speaking English a lot.

Me with my grandmother

Every year, we also have a pinata. The pinata contains candies and money. Whoever cracks it open also gets to go to the Sinulog Festival. I so wanted to win it! Sadly, I didn't. They started from the youngest to oldest. We weren't two feet tall anymore so it came easily to us to hit it. Bye bye trip to Sinulog Festival!

We dived in for the money and candy

Tik tok said the clock! It was past 12:45, so our tito threw coins at us. This is otherwise known as BIBA. We do this every New Year's eve, so that we have extra money and coins inside our pockets. They say it's lucky when we have coins on 12:00.

Crawl for those peso coins! CRAWL PEASANTS!

Midnight. It was like war. There were so many explosions of beautiful sky flowers! Our neighbor's didn't hold back, and threw a grand display of fire works. Our family aimed for a smoke free New Year, so we had another batch of sky lanterns. We all had the chance to fly one, and it was beautiful! There was a lot of hugging, and a few more fountains. It was a very happy moment!

It was almost 1:00 am when everyone went home to their respective homes. My cousins had other things in mind after they got home. They went over to our place and told me to go with them to light some illegal fireworks. Scared, I refused.

Before I slept, I counted my money, ate some more and watched Tales of the Haunted Apartment which ended the great celebration of New Year.

GATB Meet-up/First Day of School/ Thursday Madness

Before class started, Fido, Angel, Lorry and Kuya Alec met up with me. Nikka wasn't there because of family problems, though I wished she was there. I miss her, and I wanted to be with her. Page wasn't there because her family made a sudden trip to Butuan. Penda wasn't there because she didn't know the WHAT-WHERE-WHEN. Ezzy </3 She's in another country.

We just hung out at Ketkai, and ate two barkada sized pizzas. Feeling rich that day, Fidel offered to pay half. Lorry and Kuya Alec paid the other half. The rest were just freeloaders. We didn't much photos, because we were too consumed with out talking and munching.

After wards, we decided to go to WOF. Fido attempted to win me a prize in playing the darts, and failed. Kuya Alec spent over 80 to win the earphones for Lorry. We played dance revo, too! It's been a while since I got on that machine. I felt like a lump of flour, I felt ashamed since every one else seemed to take it easy. I felt so heavy, and so slow. I dreaded the activity half of the way. The redeeming part was that Fido played too! He looked so awkward, complaining about what he was doing. I couldn't help but laugh. It was soo cute =w=

We went our separate ways not long after, since it was already approaching 8:00 pm. We had classes the next day too!

Forward to the first day of School!

I dreaded the day. Why? Because it was freaking JANUARY 3. It was just two days after the New Year's Celebration! Our teachers launched their full blown lectures, and it seemed like another boring day. Luckily, I end at 4 in the afternoon. I immediately went to Ketkai where Fido, Page and Angel were. Penda was going to meet up with us a little later on, while Lorry wasn't present because she was already home. Seeing that it was the first day of school, Nikka was back at Iligan then.

The guys were at WOF, singing in the Karaoke rooms. Fido forced me to change into our couple t-shirt. I felt embarrassed for the first hour, but gradually forgot about it. We roamed around some more, just catching up and talking about our day. While waiting for Penda, we went to the Pet Shop. We found one of the most adorable bunny ever! He kept on standing up, feeling as if it was a human like us. I think it was trying to help the little mouse that got separated from the group. I think we stayed there for more than thirty minutes, just watching.

We saw Sir Sheen!

We were headed to National Bookstore to meet up with Penda, but we met Sir Sheen. He did the usual routine of interviewing his students. We interviewed him back, and took pictures as a remembrance. Coincidentally, Penda passed by! She giddily joined us as called Sir Sheen KUYA. We had to bid farewell to Sir, but Eduard entered the scene! We ended up dragging him throughout our crazy adventure.

We went to cellphone stores, and tried their latest phone models. I don't have much endurance for things like that, and so did Fido. We asked if we could go have our Thursday Madness. Since we didn't want to part that easy, everyone decided to join in. We went to Mooon Cafe at Robinson's Mall.

At 8:00 pm, we were full and ready to go home. Such a fun day.
